ABOUT CAPILANO
Capilano Tennis Club of Edmonton’s Mission Statement
The Edmonton Capilano Tennis Club Society’s mission is to build a stronger community by connecting players of all ages and skills and providing them with an enjoyable, non-judgmental, and nurturing environment in which to enjoy and improve their tennis skills.
Our Story
The Capilano Tennis Club was founded in 1976 by Jack and Gigi Needham. We celebrate and honour them with a custom made sign on Court #1 and photos in the clubhouse.
In the past almost half a century, we’ve made many upgrades to the Club including lighting, webcams, and court surfaces. In 2022, we also incorporated as a non-profit society – the Capilano Tennis Club Society.
In the coming years we’re looking forward to having a winter bubble – making our surfaces playable year round.
Club Management
The Capilano Tennis Club is managed by a volunteer executive team, with assistance from our Tennis Pro and Program Coordinator who provide day-to-day supervision of the club house and courts from May through August, and runs many aspects of the club programs, including adult and junior lessons.
