ABOUT CAPILANO
Capilano Tennis Club of Edmonton’s Mission Statement
The Edmonton Capilano Tennis Club Society’s mission is to build a stronger community by connecting players of all ages and skills and providing them with an enjoyable, non-judgmental, and nurturing environment in which to enjoy and improve their tennis skills.
Our Story
The Capilano Tennis Club was founded in 1976 by Jack and Gigi Needham. We celebrate and honour them with a custom made sign on Court #1 and photos in the clubhouse.
In the past almost half a century, we’ve made many upgrades to the Club including lighting, webcams, and court surfaces. In 2022, we also incorporated as a non-profit society – the Capilano Tennis Club Society.
In the coming years we’re looking forward to having a winter bubble – making our surfaces playable year round.
Club Management
The Capilano Tennis Club is managed by a volunteer executive team, with assistance from our General Manager who handles the day to day administration of the club and the Tennis Program Coordinators who provide day-to-day instruction on the courts (Camps and Lessons) from May through August.
